Back to School Giveaway for Children in Need

ICNA Relief USA, the domestic-relief department of the Islamic Circle North America (ICNA) is excited to announce its 5th annual Back to School Giveaway program.

The act of giving to the needy and being a good neighbor is integral in the Islamic faith.  Through the Back to School Giveaway program, ICNA Relief USA hopes to help struggling families provide for their children and to inspire the American Muslim community.

ICNA Relief USA is multicultural community-building organization which provides social services and disaster relief services to the underserved regardless of their religious, social, or economic backgrounds within the United States. ICNA Relief USA promotes justice by creating the opportunities for the less fortunate to lead healthy and productive lives.  

In previous years, ICNA Relief USA has distributed 15,000 supply-stuffed school bags, in 49 cities nationwide. According to a study done in Sun Sentinel, approximately 500,000 children under 18 live in low-income households throughout Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade counties.For the past five years, several Muslim organizations have come together to support community efforts with a collaborated Back to School Backpack giveaway.Distribution centers are being set up, with the help of local ICNA units. Emerge USA is proud to partner with the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), the Black Progressive Firefighters, Senator Dwight Bullard and Broward County School Board Rep. Ann Murray to host  Back to School Giveaways for needy students in communities in Dade and Broward County. Join us and help your kids get ready for a great school year!
